Quick life studies

Just some life studies I've done in the past few days. I'd like to get into the habit of doing it every day as I can.

Quickie

Was looking at some pin-up art and was inspired to try something a little different from my usual. I only spent 15 minutes on her so there are anatomy issues I have not addressed (especially the hands *cringe*).

I like her. She's sassy. Yet bored.

Fellow Kitchen member!

There's a fun activity in Kitchen where we can paint a fellow Kitchen member! I found a pic of Randis and did one up. You should try one, too!

I think I spent about an hour and a half on this one. I still need to pay more attention to proportion and work on light, shade and form, but I feel like I'm on the right track.

Self portrait

I can see the title of these posts causing an issue... I've always been poor at making titles or naming images :D (yes, that is me laughing on the inside!)

Worked on another self portrait last night. I'm really enjoying doing them so far and I can see it being a good way for me to get used to the brush tools I want to learn in PS.

I think I overworked the nose a bit too much this time. Spent about 45 minutes on this one.

late nights

I don't do self portraits very often and I'd like to change that. Did this one up tonight while being sleepless and chatting with a dear friend. I look a bit too young in this pic, but I still like it ^_^

Bear

Nice, two posts in one day. I don't expect that to be the norm, but I did up some conceptual sketches for the bear from the same story as the otters.

Enjoy.

First post!

Time to kick-off my blog. I'm not typically the blog-type person but I will try to update with something once a week, whether it is a sketch, a finished piece or just a thought on something art related.

Conceptual sketches for an otter in a children's story I'm working on.
